The Owner, a tenancy in common (“TIC”) between the OHSU and OUS, is building a state-of-the-art, health science and life science teaching and research facility on “Unit C” of the Schnitzer Campus owned by OHSU in the South Waterfront area of the City of Portland, Oregon with a U.S. Green Building Council, Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design rating of Platinum. The Facility, an approx. 300,000 s.f., multi-story collaborative health science and life science instructional and research center, brings together the State of Oregon’s leading public and private academic and research resources in related sciences and, as the first building of a potential multi-phase development that will provide facilities for health professional education, undergraduate and graduate education in the life sciences and bioengineering, basic and transitional biomedical research and private industry partnerships. The project also includes OHSU’s new Skourtes Tower, housing the School of Dentistry Clinical training, clinics, research spaces and two levels of underground parking. The total project includes a two (2) level parking garage of approx. 150,000 gsf, the Collaborative Life Sciences Building of approx. 265,000 gsf, the Dr. Gray research space of approx. 30,000 gsf and Skourtes Tower of approx. 200,000 gsf, for a total of approx. 650,000 gsf of new construction in a 12-story building.
